The vast majority of the American voting public seems to harbor the illusion that the Republicans and Democrats are two distinct and separate political partys.

Rather than argue semantics or vague nuances, lets look at the practices.

While their two presidential candidates continue sniping at each other in what is a geniune competition between the two of them for a single position, one of the questions frequently raise lately in the mainstream news media is the issue of the respective vice presidential running mates.

It is noteworthy that on both sides, nominal members of the “other” party have been suggested. (more…)
