AP’s Mike Glover quotes Senator John McCain:

“We Republicans are going to have a tough race in 2006 because the country is not happy with us,” McCain said. “We have a 25 percent approval rating in Congress.”
This is just one of a plethora of recent stories in the MSM about the supposed “unpopularity” of the current U.S. congress.
No doubt, Sen. McCain is’nt the first member of congress in the Republican faction of the criminal gang comprised of them and their Democrat competitors to fret over this dilemma.
One aspect of the phenomena that everyone seems to be overlooking is that even as the entire legislative branch of the federal government loses fans, this continues to be an individual, not a team sport.
You see, My congressperson is a saint; she does her part to bring home the oink-oink:

And besides, even if she is a Republican, think of all the lost seniority, if I replaced her with a rookie.
Yes, congress is doing a terrible job; we need to do a pretty through house- cleaning, and a Senate-cleaning as well, but you see, the problem is YOUR congressbeast.
So, you’re going to have to handle this one and vote out your incumbent, after all, this is all your fault.
Don’t look at me, my congresswoman is a saint:

Republican Leadership Approval Hits All-Time Low
By Richard Morin and Dan Balz
Washington Post Staff Writers
Tuesday, May 16, 2006; 5:36 PM
“Public confidence in Republican governance has plunged to the lowest levels of the Bush presidency…
Only 39 percent approve of the job Democrats in Congress are doing, while 58 percent disapprove — slightly higher than the level of disapproval registered before the 1994 midterm elections.
On one other measure, incumbents look slightly less threatened. More than three in five (62 pecent) said they approve of the way their own representative is doing his or her job, up from 59 percent last month.”
