Sure enough, their icon barely stepped down from the podium, Moveon.org commences their slick, sales-eeze promo:
“The President just announced that he’s sending 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan. Whatever they think of his decision, MoveOn members agree that we need a binding military exit strategy and firm benchmarks so we can bring our troops home safely and quickly.”
Let me get this straight. 30,000 troops are going IN…“…so we can bring our troops home safely and quickly.”
And all these decades, I thought arithmetic was a branch of mathematics…
“…pro-war advocates are already pushing him to reverse course.”
So by that logic, war opponents must, of necessity, push back and endorse escalation.
How convenient for the MIC.
How consistent with the advance of Pipelineistan in “The Great Game”.
Moveon posturing as the “anti-war” faction; a strategy to shut out from the debate those of us who advocate withdrawal .
As the power of the Presidency has expanded—so much now at stake in one person’s decision-making—aren’t banana-republic-styled cult followings of caudillos inevitable?
Let us follow the path of moral imperative and rational self-interest and demand immediate withdrawal from Afghanistan.
But only as it is too late to withdraw yesterday.

Has MoveOn’s hypocrisy ever been more obvious?
The logic is stunning. As I read somewhere else earlier, 30,000 additional troops in the interest of ending war is like another bottle of whiskey in the interest of ending alcoholism.
